Summary: It's about L. More helpfully, it's an L love story that takes place over a twenty-year period of post-Kira fallout, Wammy family drama, intercontinental detective work, and various types of pain.

Gushing:
This is a serious, literary novel. It shows great attention to every aspect of storytelling: character, plot, setting, culture, futuristic extrapolation, details from canon, use of language. It is unforgettable.
Unless OC's are an absolute deal-breaker for you, do not be frightened by the fact that a major character is an OC. He fits right in with the DN verse. He is not a Stu. I am generally not fond of OC's in my fic, but this one is now part of my personal DN canon. This story is basically an L/OC romance but a very smart one. It shows their development as individuals and as a pairing over twenty years, never forgetting the fallout from DN, world events, and other important people in their lives.
Light, though a secondary character, is fascinating, very recognizably Kira but matured by many difficult years. He does not appear right at the start, but he never ceases to be important.
I won't say more for fear of spoilers, but if you're up a good, long DN novel about life and personal growth, check it out. You'll be glad you did.
