Date: 2022-07-01 10:48 pm (UTC)A lot of people have loved Spock for his alienness, and I wonder if this new emphasis on how normatively human he's supposed to be will undermine the character as a point of identification for neurodivergent people. I gather a lot of people on the ASD spectrum have long identified with Spock, and I could imagine that the "show more normal emotion" badgering might be rather distressing for some of them.
