It was interesting to see how they tweaked Thomas Wayne's character; as far as I know, for most versions of canon, Thomas and Martha are philanthropists who spend a lot of time and money on charities, projects, hospitals, etc. But it also felt much more ... realistic? That he'd be a stuck-up rich man.

I agree it felt pretty realistic. I think it's also worth pondering that the whole movie is in Arthur's POV, and he's an unreliable narrator, so one could posit that Thomas is not that bad, or Alfred that callous, etc. The "truth," as ever, may lurk somewhere in the middle. (Weirdly blank Bruce was actually one of the oddest things for me.) :-)
