labingiG showed me the first 3 episodes of SG:U, so I thought I'd post my initial impressions. This show seems to have been getting a lackluster response, but I quite liked it. I concede none of the characters is compelling, but I also find them, in general, not annoying. I like that they're flawed and mainly out of their depth. The premise is a good one: the struggle to survive in a strange place with limited resources has a lot of potential if handled seriously, as it pretty much was for the first three episodes. (P.S. We all know Eli. Some of us are Eli. And I like the balance between humor/meta and seriousness with which his character is presented.)
