What was the first anime you watched and/or manga you read?
First anime I was kind of aware of as foreign (to the US) was Ulysses 3000, but I probably saw some more Americanized anime stuff earlier. First manga was issue 4 of Nausicaa, which I picked up at a bookstore for some reason.
What is the last anime you watched and/or manga you read?
Oh boy, the last I clearly remember (both anime and manga) is Girls Last Tour.
What is your current favorite anime and/or manga?
NB: I’m interpreting “current” to mean “my current fav” not “my fav that is fairly current”: My consistent favorite manga is Trigun/Trigun Maximum, and probably always will be. Current favorite anime in the sense of the one that always jumps to the front of my mind when I think about what’s amazing is Akira.
Which anime and/or manga deserves a sequel?
Ergo Proxy. It ended right as the main setup narrative was about to start to pay off.
Which series do you wish you could watch or read for the first time all over again?
Again, it might be Ergo Proxy; it was really wonderful to watch unfold.
Last anime and/or manga that made you cry?
Possibly my recent-ish rewatch of Gungrave made me tear up? I don’t remember tearing up over Made in Abyss or Shouwa Shinjuu, but I can imagine I might have.
Which anime will you forever keep rewatching or manga will you forever keep rereading?
My gut response is the same as “fav”: I will always periodically rewatch Akira and will have to keep going to back Trigun to refresh my memory and better understand it. Banana Fish is another manga I need to revisit over and over.
What series are you looking forward to reading and/or watching?
Anime: I wish I had one. I’m overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of stuff and miss having a review site I could go to that somewhat matched my taste. Manga: I’m watching my watch for when I might get any more of either Gangsta (the main series) or Acid Town.
What is your go to series when you are feeling down?
True story: when I was as depressed as I have ever been, the only two things I could watch that didn’t trigger my depression were Fawlty Towers (the British comedy) and Texhnolyze, so I guess it’s Texhnolyze.
Recommend an anime and/or manga:
... Texhnolyze? Seriously, it’s so rarely talked about today, and it’s a very good apocalyptic story. It deserves some more love.

I couldn’t answer that without knowing who fans, in general, find iconic, and I’m not the mainstream fandom enough.
If you were reborn as an inanimate object, what would it be?
A rock in a garden.

What is your favorite cozy anime and/or manga?
I don’t think I do cozy anime or manga!
What is your favorite "Halloween," spooky or horror anime and/or manga?
I don’t think it’s considered “horror,” but Made in Abyss is one of the most horrifying anima/manga I’ve ever been exposed to, and it’s amazing.
What is your nostalgia anime and/or manga?
Please Save My Earth (anima), possibly also the ’92 anime of Ai no Kusabi, because, boy, they don’t make ’em like that anymore!
Favorite filler arc in an anime and/or manga?
It’s not a full arc, but I adore the filler episode in Ergo Proxy where Vincent and Real are stuck on the ship in the doldrums and just have to deal with living together in close quarters, ep. 16, I believe?
What was your favorite romantic plot or love interest in an anime and/or manga?
It may be Issei and Jinpachi in Please Save My Earth (anime), though the manga done them dirty, in my opinion. Alternatively, the whole story of Winter Cicada.
What is your favorite fight/battle?
Probably Tetsuo generally going crazy in Akira.
Do you have a favorite summer episode, arc, or official art?
I don’t know how “official” it is (as in sold separately or something), but I really love the frame in Trigun Maximum during Wolfwood’s big battle in vol. when he gets flung into Vash’s arms.
Do you prefer physical copies or do you prefer to watch/read online?
Oh my God, physical!
What is your favorite place to stream anime or read manga online?
Wherever I have to. I’ll generally read manga wherever scanlations are up to date, prior to physical copies being released. Anime – wherever it’s streaming that I have access to.
