Such an interesting insight to the past although somehow for me it doesn't much feel like past. It seems she had a clear sense of herself and her life. I think this is the only thing to be missed in the past; that sense of knowing your place, even if you were a minority, you'd still know who you were(even if it was forced for good and bad. This sense of being lost that is so much prevalent now was much less. Now, I have to remind myself of myself and my place. It is an unenviable situation I'd say.
