Stan Lee, who created Magneto in 1963 (and who, if it matters, is a Jew) It's worth pointing out that Magneto was re-interpreted as Jewish (and Holocaust survivor) and as a more nuanced anti-villainous & anti-heroic figure long after Lee's run; by Chris Claremont, who I do not believe is Jewish. (Though I've heard that he asked Lee's opinion about it).
