I think Inception suffered from the massive hype surrounding it. I felt like it was a pretty good movie, but not great -- it didn't blow me away or truly get to me. (Unlike The Dark Knight, which I much prefer.) It's hard for me to pin down exactly why the movie wasn't as good as I expected, especially because there were some genuinely interesting moments and concepts, but the execution just didn't quite do it for me. It felt oddly cold at points, but I liked the scene between the son and his dying father, and the suicide moment. I also surprised myself by liking DiCaprio's performance. Levitt, on the other hand, was pretty much completely wasted.
I only saw a bit of Tennant's Hamlet, but I liked his take in the more comic moments. I never saw any Ophelia scenes, so I'm curious to see how they handled her. She does seem more interesting than she first appears.
