Very interesting! Thanks for sharing this context. Yes, it's been kind of bizarre to see new/old racial lines materialize out of 9/11. I remember shortly after 9/11, my friend's husband was subject to a lot of racist backlash, and he is a white person of French descent. I guess it was just that he just wore a beard and had somewhat dark eyes? Humans really do look for excuses to divide ourselves.
