Mists of Avalon was a very important book to me for similar reasons, and I haven't read it again since the revelations of Bradley as an abuser. But I also can't discard it wholesale - either physically or mentally - and I think it always will take up that real estate in my brain. There are authors (and directors, artists etc.) to whom my reaction is total disgust, who I never want anything to do with, but for many reasons this one book sticks with me, so I definitely can't judge anyone else for where their line falls.
In the case of the Harry Potter books I've mostly seen people, including trans people, decide not to buy anything more, but still enjoy the stories and the fandom - it was a gateway fandom for so many people that I think it would be hard to ask that of them.
